Harry Potter And The Ten Years Later – Q&A

Aren’t you afraid of getting sued?

Yup!

So… what are you doing about it?

Reminding everyone as often as possible that this is a fan-made, non-commercial parody. No one involved in HPplus10 is making any money from the project, nor do we seek to. Also, there are plenty of other Potter parodies out there. Ours wasn’t the first and it won’t be the last.

Then why did you make it?

Purely for entertainment purposes. We wish only to poke gentle fun at, and pay tribute to, one of the greatest fantasy franchises ever.

Who are you, anyway?

We’re a group of LA artists looking for a fun way to show off our skills to a bigger audience. Matt wrote most of the parts for exactly who performed them, and it was great to be able to showcase all our talented friends.

The writing began around April of last year (2011), and production took place over the summer, ending mid-September. Editing and reshoots followed during the fall. Visual effects took for-freaking-ever, finally wrapping up around April. After that, we put on the finishing touches, including sound effects & mixing, original score, and color correction.

How long are the episodes?

The episodes are around 10 to 15 minutes long.

Hey, if this is ten years later, shouldn’t Harry already have a couple of kids? And isn’t Harry rich? And aren’t Harry’s eyes supposed to be green? And in the books-

Whoa there, tiger. It’s a parody, not a sequel.

But canon! CANON! TIMELINES! DISCREPANCIES! WHAT ABOUT THE EPILOGUE?

Parody. Relax.

Is the series available for screening at fantasy-themed conventions and film festivals?

Sure! Let your favorite cons and fests know that you’d like to see it and have them email us at contact@furiousmolecules.com!
